What is photovoltaic power generation technology?

The research on photovoltaic power generation technology has a history of over 100 years. This energy product has matured. China began researching solar cells in 1958 and successfully applied them to the Dongfanghong 2 satellite launched by China in 1971. Since 1973, solar cells have been used on the ground. In 2002, relevant national departments launched the "Power Transmission to Township Project" to install photovoltaic power stations in nearly 800 non electrified townships in seven western provinces and regions. This project has driven the rapid development of China's photovoltaic industry. As of the end of 2004, the cumulative installed capacity of solar cells in China has reached 65000 kilowatts.
